Circa 1936-1946: The vintage fiesta marmalade was orignally designed as the mustard jar for the fiesta pottery line, but it was obviously too large for mustard, but perfect for jam. It was then renamed a "honey jar" and put into production. Labor intensive hand work would have included attaching the lid to the top and hand punching in the spoon slot on the lid. Not many were sold, so less were made resulting in a hard to find piece for us today. Manufactured for less than 8 years and only made in the first six original fiestaware colors, the marmalade will be marked in the mold on the bottom with the embossed "fiesta HLC USA" and will measure 4 1/2" tall by 3 3/4" wide. This example in the original fiesta yellow colored glaze is in spectacular condition, without damage or signs of use.
