Circa 1936-1946: The large fiestaware 12" footed comport (compote) is a delightful piece of vintage tableware that transcends dinnerware and elevates the line into art pottery. This generously sized bowl is a showstopping shape from the earliest days of the fiesta tableware line. Transcending mere dinnerware, the footed comports are elevated to art pottery and showcase the famous bands of rings both inside and out and around the wonderfully hand crafted wide foot. This example in the original yellow colored glaze is in excellent condition without signs of use, no damage and a great like new shine. Please note a couple small areas of glaze irregularity and one very minor darker spot on the inside of the bowl, all of which are in the making. Unmarked on the bottom like many are, with excellent crisp, well defined hand applied rings decorating the bottom instead. Measures an impressive 12 1/2"w x 3 1/2"t.
