Circa 1936-1949: This is an earlier example of the fiesta dessert bowl when the bottoms were fully glazed and the pieces were set in the kiln by hand on a triangular stilt, which is what causes the little marks on the bottom. This bowl is in as made condition without signs of use or damage, but does have some cross contamination spots on the inside. Fiesta was mass produced, but with an incredible amount of hand-work still involved. The bowls would have had the outside rings formed from the mold, but the inside rings, on both the sides and the bottom, would have had to been etched into the bowl one at a time by a metal blade as the bowl spun around on a jiggering machine. So somewhere in that hand crafted production a factory worker dropped some specks onto the bowl. It's character from a manufacturing time that is long retired. Discounted accordingly.Marked in the mold on the bottom: "fiesta MADE IN USA HLCo". Measures 6 3/16" w x 1 9/16" tall.
