Circa 1938-1941: Harlequin yellow (a brighter version than the yellow belonging to the sister pottery line of Fiesta) was one of the original colors introduced with the line at the end of the 1930s. Solid color dinnerware was all the rage and Harlequin was to be the superstar of the retail giant F.W. Woolworth. Harlequin was a huge hit for Woolworths and was sold continuously for 28 years. The marmalade is a great example of the more unusual holloware pieces from the line. Hand applied, art-deco inspired, handles adorn the top of a simple, conical body. One of the first five pieces dropped from production, the vintage Harlequin pottery marmalade is a collectors dream. This example in the original yellow glaze is in excellent condition with no damages, touchups or repairs. Measures 4 1/4" to top of lid and 4 1/8" wide.
