Circa 1936-1946: The large fiestaware 12" footed comport (compote) is a delightful piece of vintage tableware that transcends dinnerware and elevates the line into art pottery. The foot was molded seperately from the bowl and would have been attached to the underside by hand and then the foot rings and underside rings would have been etched into each piece one at a time. This example in the original turquoise colored glaze would not have been released until mid 1937 and discontinued by 1946. It is nicely marked on the bottom "GENUINE fiesta HLC USA" and is in spectacular condition without signs of use, no damage and a great like new shine. Measures an impressive 12 1/2"w x 3 1/2"t.
