Circa 1940-1959: Although the Harlequin individual salad bowl enjoyed great success for 20 years, the turquoise glazed examples were only in production for a mere single year before the original Harlequin color was retired. It is a great treat to find an example of this thick walled construced, ringed bowl in the first Harlequin color. Rings on the outside bottom would have been hand-etched into the sliped cast clay on the jiggering machine. The bowls would be fully dipped and will show the three sagar marks from setting on the stilts in the kiln. This example is in very good condition without chips, damage or repairs. Please note a small sign of use in the inside bottom that shows lightly at the right angle and some thick glaze on one side. Measures a generous 7 1/2" wide.
