Circa 1937-1942: Available in the first six vintage glazes only, the footed salad bowl was one of the original pieces released with the Fiestaware line in 1936. Ambitious from the start, the giant footed salad measures over 11" across the top. It is amazing to imagine these bowls being hand dipped and then put on a jiggering machine to etch in the concentric rings. Only made in the original six colors, this example in the original red glaze is in very good condition without chips, cracks, crazing, touchups or repairs. Please note some minor and light scratches inside (very minimal) and some in the making glaze pops as well. One small glaze irregularity on the outside, also minor. Discounted appropriately. This example is also marked in the mold with the early "fiesta HLC USA". It maybe hard to notice in the photos with the thick red rich glaze, but it is marked. A lovely example of a hard to find piece that was only made in the first six colors and in red for less than 5 years! Measures 11 3/8"w x 5 9/16" h.
