Circa 1936-1946: The Fiesta marmalade was orignally designed as the mustard, but it was obviously too large for mustard, but perfect for jam. Orignally called the "honey jar", made from three pieces, a slip cast body and finial and the lid jiggered and the hole had to be hand punched from the lid before the clay dried, so the holes will vary slightly. Not a large seller in the 1940s resulted in fewer of these pieces being produced, making it a difficult find. This example is discounted because of a glaze skip on the top of the finial along with a glaze stone pop in another skip (visible in the second and following photos). The jar does still have it's main angle that displays perfectly. Nice and early crisp mark from the mold on the bottom "fiesta HLC USA". No signs of use or damage. Measures 4 1/2" tall by 3 3/4" wide.
