Circa 1936-1944: The original green colored Homer Laughlin glaze was used across all of their solid colored tableware lines and is a delight on the more unusual and hard to find pieces like this covered mustard jar in perfect, collector quality condition. The base and lid were slip cast and the lid was molded from one piece, with the spoon hole cut out by hand after the piece was molded. The mustard jar went through many revisions before this final size and design were decided on and the piece was released at the end of 1936. This example is in excellent condition without damage or signs of use. Please note a couple of small in the making glaze pops, not distracting at all. The glaze is excellent, nice and even with a rich and good application. Measures 2 1/2" wide and 3 1/6" tall.
