Circa 1936-1946: The Fiesta marmalade was orignally designed as the mustard, but it was obviously too large for mustard, but perfect for jam. Orignally called the "honey jar", made from three pieces, a slip cast body and finial and the lid jiggered and the hole had to be hand punched from the lid before the clay dried, so the holes will vary slightly. Not a large seller in the 1940s resulted in fewer of these pieces being produced, making it a difficult find. This example is in excellent condition without damage, use, or wear. Please note a few in the making sand bumbs under the rim of the lid. The green glaze is perfect on this piece, not too light and not too dark but just perfect and nicely applied. Nice crisp marke from the mold on the bottom "fiesta HLC USA". Measures 4 1/2" tall by 3 3/4" wide.
