Circa 1936-1946: The large fiestaware 12" footed comport (compote) is a delightful piece of vintage tableware that transcends dinnerware and elevates the line into art pottery. This generously sized bowl is a showstopping shape from the earliest days of the fiesta tableware line. Transcending mere dinnerware, the footed comports are elevated to art pottery and showcase the famous bands of rings both inside and out and around the wonderfully hand crafted wide foot. This example in the original green colored glaze is in excellent condition without signs of use, no damage and a great like new shine. Please note a small lighter glaze area (not even a full skip) on the rim of the bowl and some very minor uneven glaze on the underside which is very common, otherwise this is an exceptional example of the original green glaze with a beautiful scratch free interior and rich application of color. Unmarked on the bottom, with excellent crisp, well defined hand applied rings decorating the base instead. Measures an impressive 12 1/2"w x 3 1/2"t.
