Circa 1936-1938: Early variation with bottom rings— Extra rings on vintage fiestaware pottery are a special treat. The earliest versions of many pieces had extra inside and outside rings. These rings would have been etched into the pieces by hand on a jiggering machine, a process that would have added precious time to the making. By 1938, two years into lines production, in an effort to reduce labor costs, many small modifications were made, including removing rings where possible. So it's a treat to be able to date a piece to the first two years of production by the inclusion of these early rings, like this example. Marked in the mold on the bottom with the impressed "fiesta HLCo USA" and the extra two sets of outside bottom rings. In excellent condition. Measures 3 1/4" across x 1" tall.s
