Circa 1936-1946: In the late 1930s and early 1940s the American Southwest was all the rage. This vintage fiesta carafe celebrates that southwestern frenzy with an after market applied decal. This makes a fun addition to your collection and adds a great sense of whimsy. Two different decals decorate this carafe, one with an hombre in a large sombrero, carrying a basket of red flowers with a poncho over his shoulder, and on the other side a donkey, flanked by cacti on both sides, carrying some decorated water jugs with a man in a sombrero guiding the way. Great icon southwestern themes to bring an element of humanism and wit to the collection. Please note the tinies of tiny little chips inside the fluted edges of the lid that was nearly to small to photograph (perhaps you can make it out in the third photograph). Otherwise this is a great vintage piece with the delicate decals still in great shape. Nicely marked on the bottom with the earliest mark "fiesta HLC USA". The yellow glaze is nice and thick and rich and bold without any scratches or wear at all. This piece will make a wonderful addition to any collection. Measures 9 1/4"h x 7 1/8" w
