Circa 1941-1951: The variety of pitchers that Frederick Rhead designed and produced for Homer Laughlin is really impressive. This version of a milk jug for the Harlequin line, referred to as the 22 ounce jug, is one of the boldest and jovial design of them all. The jutting handle and spout nearly double its width and the restrained decoration are superb. This example in original rose glaze was released by 1941 and continued in production for one decade, making rose an iconic 1940s Harlequin color. This example is in excellent condition with no damage, no touch-ups or repairs, a fabulous surface without scratches, and a clean dry foot. Please note there is very minor glaze variation on the bottom of one side, but not bad at all for this glaze during this time period. Measures 5" Tall by 6 1/2" wide.
