Circa 1938-1944: The number one fiestaware nesting bowls are becoming very hard to find, especially in excellent condition without signs of use or damage, such as this example. Bottom rings were removed from the bowls by 1938 and by 1942 only one size of each color was still being manufactured. Red number ones were used for the final last two years of production, which makes sense considering the red glaze was the most expensive to produce. All red bowls are desirable, especially the number ones and sevens. This example is in amazing condition with a perfect glaze, no signs of use, not a scratch and a great crisp and easy to read mark "HL fiesta MADE IN U.S.A. 1".
