Happy Heidi Vintage Fiesta

Vintage Fiesta Pottery Covered Casserole in Original Red Glaze | Circa 1936-1942

Circa 1936-1942: The vintage Fiesta casserole, with it's scroll handles and finial top, shares it's design with both the sugar bowl and the covered onion soup bowl. The earliest versions have a hand applied foot, like the early footed sald bowls and 12" comports. In November of 1936 the mold was changed to include the foot, which was then hand shaped by flaring ou more than the mold itself would have allowed, and then adding the bands of rings around the outside of the foot by hand, etching them in on the jiggering machine. The scroll handles as well had to be attached by hand. The red covered casserole is not easy to find in good shape and it took me a long time to find one like this good enough for my collection. This example is in excellent, clean, condition with no damage and no apparent use. Nice crisp mark on the bottom "HL fiesta MADE IN U.S.A." with the quality controllers numbered stamp (number 3) and it also boasts a nice clean dry foot. Guaranteed to please. Measures 9 3/4" w x 5 3/4" h.
