Circa 1938-1942: The red glazes were used less at Homer Laughlin because it was much costlier to make, containing uranium, it was a premium glaze. Finding larger pieces like the Riviera platter in the original pre-WWII red glaze is harder than one would think. This is an excellent example in very good condition of the 11" plain oval well Century lines shapped platter, dipped in the Fiesta red glaze and marketed for the Riviera tableware line. Measures a little under 11 1/2".
