Circa 1939-1942: The premium Riviera juice set was modeled after the Fiesta's successful promotional campaign was well underway. A much smaller line, sold at various resellers like Sears, The Murphy Co., and J.J. Newberry, Riviera dinnerware was produced in significantly smaller quantities than the fiestaware line. The original red tumbler was marketed with the yellow or blue Riviera jug and accompanied by tumblers in yellow, green, mauve blue and rarely turquoise. All pieces from this set should be considered hard to find if not rare. These humble tumblers are not showing up very often and it's been years since I've had any to offer for sale and these are the cleanest and nicest examples I have ever seen. You will not be disappointed with this hard to find piece. This example is in excellent condition without damage or signs of use. Please note a couple minor in the making pottery flaws. Red was discontinued by the end of 1942 (with ivory acting as a stand in for the missing color, making both ivory and red extremely hard to find to complete the juice sets). Measures 3.5"h by 2.5"w and holds 7 ounces.
