Homer Laughlin Harlequin Water Tumbler in Original Green Glaze for Sale | Circa 1938-1940

Home » | Tumblers » |

Circa 1938-1940: The Harlequin water tumbler was introduced in January of 1938, a little over a year after the pottery made it's debut at Woolworth's five and dime stores. Proving popular enough to justify an expanse, the water tumbler, along with a dozen other new shapes, was added to the line. At that time only four colors were in use, two of which (maroon and spruce) would be cut from the line in just a couple short years. Collectors of Homer Laughlins Harlequin line will appreciate adding the early maroon (originally called red) glaze to their ensembles. This example is in excellent condition without damage, or signs of use. Please note one small light scratch and a couple mold and glaze irregularities, typical of the era. Measures 4 3/8"h x 3 1/2"w
