Circa 1939-1946: The fiesta utility tray was only made in the first six original colors. It comes in two versions, for the first two years of production they were made on the ram press and later were made in a mold and fully glazed on the bottom. This is an example from the second period of production and it is fully glazed on the back.Usually the fully glazed versions are found marked, but sometimes they slip through the cracks without being marked, like this one, but we do see the quality controllers numbers stamped in the back. Collectors should note that the two types of utility trays do no stack well together, so if you have late versions with the angled sides (like this one) it will stack nicely with other versions. If you have early versions with straight sides please consider the early version trays. Measures 10 1/2" long.
