Circa 1938-1945: This particular example of Homer Laughlins casserole from the Riviera line was found recently in Calfornia. The collection consisted of a few pieces of Riviera in original green with a note that they were won as premiums from the movies. Whether true or not that makes sense that Homer Laughlin might be shipping pieces out to California to compete with Bauer and the many other solid color dinnerwares being made on the West coast during this era. We know Homer Laughlin was big on premiums and promotions during the early 1940s and were setting up give-a-ways and store displays in many locations. This Riviera casserole in the original green is in excellent as made condition without signs of use or damage. Please note the typical glaze variations and factory variabilities. Measures 10 1/2" long.
