Vintage Fiesta Pottery #2 Mixing Bowl Lid in Original Green Glaze for Sale | Circa August 1936-January 1937

Home » | Fiesta Bowls » | Fiesta Bowl Lids »

Circa August 1936 - January 1937: Fiesta mixing bowl lids can lay their claim to being the very first piece cut from production. The mixing bowl lids were discontinued within six months of production before the turquoise glaze was even developed, before the covered onion soup bowl, and even before the 12" divided plate (also not made in turquoise). Owning any is a rare treat and I know few collectors who have completed the whole set of twenty! This version in red for the #2 sized bowl is in excellent condition without signs of damage or use and a nice even glaze without issues. The lid would have been fully glazed, fired twice, and the knob tooled by hand. Measures 6 1/6" across. Produced for a scant six months, the mixing bowl lid is highly coveted and this example in original red will be a delight to add to your collection or as a very special gift for the fiesta collector.
