Circa 1936-1951: The vintage Fiesta casserole harkens back to more romantic, slower paced times. It's easy to image seeing a covered casserole brought out to serve a special meal at a family gathering. Lots of hand craftsmanship was involved in the pieces making, including attaching the lids knob by hand, smoothing the seams that might be showing from the two part mold process, using a hand tool to flare out the bottom foot and then etching in the bands of rings around the foots base one piece at a time. After all that the spectacular piece would be dipped in the gorgeous rich dark blue glaze and fired again to produce the mezmerizing color. Casseroles would be marked in the mold with the impressed "HLC fiesta MADE IN U.S.A." and the impressive piece measures 9 3/4" w x 5 3/4" h.
