Circa 1939: The American Potter Exhibit— The highly detailed, embossed potters plaques that Bill Barrisford and Garvin Miller created for Homer Laughlin's participation in the Joint Exhibit of Capital and Labor for the New York 1939 Worlds Fair are a joyous celebration of talent, technique and artistry. The embossed plaques came in two scenes, "Thrower at the Wheel" and "Artist at the Wheel". This example of the "Thrower at the Wheel" in the original brown glaze, is nicely marked on the back and is in excellent condition. Measures 7 3/16" across.
