Circa 1939: The American Potter Exhibit— The highly detailed, embossed potters plates that Bill Barrisford and Garvin Miller created for Homer Laughlin's participation in the Joint Exhibit of Capital and Labor for the New York 1939 Worlds Fair are a joyous celebration of talent, technique and artistry. The embossed plaques came in two scenes, "Thrower at the Wheel" and "Artist Decorating a Vase". Both scenes were produced in the original Vintage Fiesta turquoise glaze, a brown glaze, tan and ivory. This example of the Artist Decorating a Vase Embossed plate, in the original Brown glaze, is in excellent condition and is nicely marked on the back "The American Potter, New York Worlds Fair, Joint Exhibit of Capital and Labor 1939". Measures 7 3/16" across.
