Circa 1950: Part of a 3 piece chil's set made for Sears, the Dick Tracy bowl showcases the entire gang including Dick Tracy, Tess, Junior, Captain Patten, Mugg the dog, Sparkle Plenty and Sam. Homer Laughlin had a long standing relationship with both Sears and Roebuck and Ovaltine and the Dick Tracy Child's set showcases the famous artists syndicate of Chicago, Illinois Dick Tracy comic characters. This example of the hard to find pruina shape bowl from the set is in pretty good condition considering the usual shape these pieces are found in. The blue strip has a few small spoon chips in it and shows minor wear, but the graphics are exceptionally crisp and well preserved. Measures 7" in diameter.
