The American Potter New York Worlds Fair Exhibit Four Seasons Dish Autumn Scene in Nonstandard Yellow Glaze | Circa 1940

Home » | World's Fair American Potter » |

Circa 1940: Autumn in Nonstandard Turquoise Glaze—Already unique, the seasonal scenes are occasionally found dipped in nonstandard glaze colors, usually turquoise, but to find a scene in yellow is exceedingly rare. Huxords Collector's Encyclopedia of Fiesta reports five yellow examples known.

So here we have an unusually sunny autumn day for a hunter and his best friend to go to the countryside in search of some fowl. Excellent as made condition, please note the small yellow glaze miss on the hunters cap. No signs of use or damage. Marked on the back "The American Potter New York Worlds Fair, 1940, Joint Exhibit of Capital and Labor". Measures 4 1/4" w.
