Circa 1940-1943: The vintage fiesta french casserole is perhaps one of the boldest designs in the entire line. Originally designed in the spring of 1935, it wasn't until a few extra pieces were added for the promotional campaign in the early 40s that the shape was produced. Lots of hand work would have to be done to complete this daring piece, the fully fluted handle would have been attached by hand, as well as the finial on top. Note that the finial isn't flared as we find on all the other vintage Fiesta knobs. The body shape is similar the the unlisted promotional salad bowl, with outside upper rings being etched into the clay by hand on the jiggering machine, but not added to the inside of the bowl, giving us a great, smooth expanse of sunny fiesta yellow. Marked in the mold "HLCo fiesta MADE IN USA". This example is without damage or signs of use. The yellow glaze is lovely, without misses or irregularities and no scratches mar it's surface. Measures 11 13/16" x 4 3/16"
