September 1939-Early1940: The Homer Laughlin cup and saucer ashtray is an unusual novelty item. It wasn't one of the original pieces in the line, but was added to the mix in the fall of 1939, as original colors were being discontinued and new colors for the '40s were being introduced. None are easy to find and are even harder to find in excellent condition. This example in the original spruce glaze is in excellent condition, showing little to no use and is without chips or restoration, please note a couple small signs of use along the saucers edge and minor glaze variation. Measures 6 3/16" wide by 1" high (cup included).
