Circa 1948: The vintage fiesta juice pitcher is a smaller version of the more well known disk water pitcher. The smallest of a series of disk pitchers modeled during the development of the original fiesta tableware line, the 30 ounce, 6" tall pitcher wasn't used until the 1940s when it made its debut in a variety of colors with accompanying tumblers to make promotional and celebratory juice sets. The celadon glaze was taken from the "Jubilee" line and used in celebration of Homer Laughlin's 75th anniversary. The anniversary set featured the disk juice pitcher in celadon green which would have been accompanied by two each of tumblers in cream beige, shell pink and mist gray (shell pink and cream beige and rose are shown here). All pieces from the anniversary set are hard to find. This example of the elusive celedon promotional disk juice pitcher is in excellent condition, without damage or signs of use and a beautiful, smooth and pearly soft finish. Please note an extra piece of unglazed pottery on the bottom of the pitcher, which does not effect the jug when upright. Marked from in the mold on the bottom "fiesta HLC USA". Measures 6" tall, 6 1/2" wide.
