Circa 1939-1942: The vintage fiesta pottery line did have an ashtray, but with the Harlequin line, the Homer Laughlin pottery company went all out, giving us three varieties of ashtrays to enjoy— plain, basketweave and Basketweave ashtrays. The basketweave ashtray enjoyed 21 years of production yet somehow are hard to find and appear less and less, and of course would have been discontinued in red in 1943 when the uranium oxide was needed for the Manhattan Project. This example in the original radioactive red glaze is in spectacular condition without any use or damage. Measures 6 3/16" wide by 1" high
