Circa 1933: Century pottery is a small line, consisting of less than twenty pieces and was the shape used to make the Riviera pottery line using the Vintage Fiesta Red, Green and Ivory along with Harlequin Blue and Yellow. This teapot predates all of that and is from the original Homer Laughlin Century pottery line. Marked L 33 N on the bottom, lets us date this example to November of 1933. Old Ivory Vellum glaze is a masterpiece and dipped over one of the highlights of the line is a real showcase. Collectors will appreciate the fusion form the Vintage Fiesta Ivory across the other pottery lines of Riviera and Century. Undamaged example, with the early tea strainer built inside.
