Circa 1936-1959: The vintage fiesta after dinner cup (A.D.) and saucer set is a darling miniature, taunting us to put it to use with a good espresso after dinner, or the tell-talke chocolate that would come from the demitasse pot at the table. Part of the original vintage fiesta pottery line, the hand work involved included not only jiggering both the cup and saucer and attatching the seperatly cast handle to the cup, but also shaping the flared foot. The stick handle mirrors the larger one found on the demitasse coffee pot and the early version of the creamer. This example in yellow is in excellent condition, unmarked as this piece most often is. Some later versions will have a marked saucer or an occassional marked cup will surface, those were meant for export to Canada. Measures 2 1/2" high for the cup and 5 1/4" wide for the saucer.
