Vintage Fiesta Pottery Water Pitcher in Original Ivory Glaze for Sale | Circa 1938-1951

Circa 1938-1951: Here is a wonderfully clean vintage Fiesta disk water pitcher in the original ivory glaze. Holloware was made by slipcasting liquid clay into a plaster mold. Seam lines would be smoothed and finished by hand. The piece would then be double fired, first as bisque and secondly for the glaze in a glost kiln. When designer Frederick Rhead was first putting pen to paper, creating the original Fiesta line, his hope was to develop a shape for colored glazes based upon concentric fluted circles. The Fiesta Disk Water Pitcher is the fruition of this idea. Iconic and classic, this has become the quintissential piece of fiestapottery. This example in ivory boasts an excellent glaze and a gorgeous finish. Please note minor staining on the bottom, but no signs of use or damage. Measures 7 1/2" tall x 8 3/4"w x 5"d.
