Circa 1951-1959: The Vintage Fiesta
ashtray was one of the original pieces designed in the mid 30s for the launch of the Fiesta pottery line, and remained in production even through the end of Fiesta Ironstone's run in 1973. Obviously smoking was important around the vintage table, but even if you are not a smoker and have no intention of using the now valuable and collectable vintage fiesta ashtray, it is still a shape in which we can delight, with its band of concentric rings around the rim being interrupted by three evenly spaced wells. Bands of concentric rings decorate the inside bottom and even the back - HLCo spared no expense with rings everywhere! This example in 50s Chartreuse glaze is marked with the "GENUINE fiesta HCLo USA" backstamp. In excellent condition, showing no wear and wonderful rich glaze. Measures 6 9/16" w.
