Circa 1959: The scarcity of the Homer Laughlin 60s Medium Green glaze on Harlequin pieces is strong enough, but on the teapot it is truly rare. The Harlequin Teapot was discontinued in 1959, the same year the Medium Green glaze was released, making this glaze on this shape a rare find. The Harlequin teapot itself is already one of the finest and showiest pieces of the whole vintage line, and at 10"w from handle to spout and over 6" tall from base to top, it is also one of the largest pieces of holloware made. Examples surface only once every few years and collectors will rejoice on the condition of this example, with a perfectly applied glaze and undamaged surface.
