Circa 1937-1938: Advanced collectors will appreciate the difficulty of finding an early version of the Fiesta utility tray in the original turquoise glaze. Turquoise staggered behind, nearly a year, before the glaze entered production, making these early, short lived pieces hard to find in the turquoise glaze. This particular example is also form the Becky Turner collection, on of the premier founders of Homer Laughlin collectors association. The early version of the utility tray was produced on a ram press and can be identified by the fully dry foot and straighter edges. Please note this example has a pair of tiny chips around the dry foot (shown in the last picture at about 5-6 o'clock), otherwise delightful with the provenence. Measures 10 1/2" long.
