Vintage Fiesta, Kitchen Kraft, Harlequin & Riviera Pottery in Original Green Glaze for Sale | Circa: 1936-1951

During the mid '30s, the Homer Laughlin pottery was busy around the clock, not only producing many types of pottery but developing what would become the worlds most collected dinnerware—the original vintage Fiesta pottery line. The whole country was exploding with energy. Automobiles could take one across the country, prohibition was over, and the excitement of a California lifestyle sparked the imagination. Homer Laughlin was working hard at staying ahead of the curve, and, when they released their new bold and bright Fiesta pottery line in 1936, it was obvious the dinnerware was going to be a smashing success. While the bold colors of the vintage Fiesta red and blue glazes may have been shockingly fresh, the original green color was more of a classic carry over from the late 20s and early 30s. This original green color had already dominated the American kitchen pallette for a decade, so it is no surprise that original green would be a foundation for the original Fiesta color release. Homer Laughlin would introduce several other greens onto Fiesta pottery during the course of its 33 year production, but it is the original green that represents an era and takes us back to the 1930 kitchen.
