Circa 1936-1951: Wonderfully clean vintage Fiesta disk water pitcher in the original ivory glaze. Holloware, made by slipcasting liquid clay into a plaster mold. Seam lines smoothed and finished by hand. Double fired, first as bisque and secondly for the glaze in a glost kiln. When designer Frederick Rhead was first putting pen to paper, creating the Fiesta line, his hope was to develop a shape for colored glazes, based upon concentric fluted circles. The Fiesta Disk Water Pitcher is the fruition of this idea. Iconic and classic, this has become the quintissential piece of fiesta pottery. This example in ivory boasts an excellent glaze and a gorgeous finish. Very nice example.
